Scented Play Dough for the holidays!

Chocolate Scented Play Dough

Mix 1 1/4 cups of flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup table salt, 1/2 Tablespoon cream of tartar. Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons cooking oil, 1 cup boiling water. Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool , mix with your hands. Store in airtight container. It will smell good enough to eat but without sugar in it kids will not want to taste it a second time!

Apple Pie Scented Play Dough

Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup table salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar, 1 cup boiling water, red food coloring, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice, 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom. Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool , mix with your hands. Store in airtight container.

Peppermint and/or Pine scented Play dough

Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup table salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar, 1 cup boiling water, red food coloring for peppermint and green for pine, add drops of either peppermint essential oil or pine essential oil. Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool , mix with your hands. Store in airtight container.

Cinnamon Scented Play Dough

Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup table salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar, 1 cup boiling water, 5 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool , mix with your hands. Store in airtight container.

Any Kool-aid Flavor Scented Play Dough

Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup table salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar, 1 cup boiling water, package of Kool-aid, food coloring to match the  scent. Stir quickly, mix well. Cook over low heat until dough forms a ball. When cool , mix with your hands. Store in airtight container.

The possibilities are endless, try rose essential  oil drops for a floral scent!
